UKRAINE ASKS U.S. FOR 6 BILLION CUBIC METERS OF GAS, TO HELP ITS ECONOMY

Above: gas prices in America are soaring, but that has not stopped Ukraine from asking the U.S. for 6 billion cubic meters of gas.

From Pravda:

Kiev requested 6 billion cubic meters of LNG from the United States under Lend-Lease. It is noteworthy that Ukraine assured that it would pay off all debts in 2024. In an interview with Pravda.Ru, Alexander Dudchak, Ph.D. in Economics, a leading researcher at the Institute of CIS Countries , explained that Kiev’s promises to return money for gas are more than doubtful.

According to the economist, the likelihood that the United States will take such a risky step is small, but there is a possibility. At the same time, Washington is well aware that Lend-Lease will turn into a debt hole for Kyiv.

“This will cause problems in the Western market; at the very least, it can lead to a price increase. Moreover, to say that Ukraine will pay off in two years, but this is just a wonderful idea. Well done. Do they really take everyone for idiots? It is clear that Ukraine will not pay,” Dudchak explained.

Russian Media Reports on Military Operations in Ukraine, 6 June 2022.

GAZETA, 6 June 2022: Russian media is reporting that the town of Svyatogorsk has been nearly completely conquered by Russian forces.

The Russian Defense Ministry said that the Russian Armed Forces almost took control of the city of Svyatogorsk (DPR) and the surrounding territories. The official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, Major General Igor Konashenkov , said that Ukrainian national formations blew up a bridge across the Northern Donets River, in order to prevent their own soldiers from retreating.

“The remnants of the battalions of the Ukrainian 95th Air Assault Brigade and 81st Separate Airborne Brigade were cut off from the main forces and supplies, due to the destruction of the bridge” he added. Konashenkov clarified that about 80 Ukrainian servicemen reached the Russian side by swimming and surrendered.

In other news, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky claims that now the most difficult areas for the Armed Forces of Ukraine are on the Zaporozhye and Severodonetsk directions. According to him, “there is a threatening situation in the Zaporozhye region and Severodonetsk.” Zelensky admits that the situation for Ukraine could become even worse. “If there is a breakthrough in the Donbass, it will be very difficult for us,” he added.

Russian Newspaper Discusses Moscow’s Military Mistakes in Ukraine.

Above: a Russian tank destroyed in Ukraine; Moscow mistakenly expected ‘to be met with flowers.’ The barrel of the Russian tank is witfully emblazoned with the word “WOLVERINES”, a reference to the 1980s film, RED DAWN, which told the story of a fictional Soviet occupation of America.

PRAVDA 6 June 2022: The deputy head of the State Duma Committee for the Development of Civil Society, Colonel General and former commander of the Airborne Forces, Vladimir Shamanov , said the main miscalculation, “was that we will be met with flowers.” “This is one of the main mistakes that we felt very keenly in the first five days. Today we have already overcome this issue,” Shamanov said.

The Russians also did not expect the Ukrainian military to hide behind civilian human shields. “When conducting defensive operations in cities…The soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine occupy the upper floors of high-rise buildings, and hold the civilian population below,” explained the former commander of the Airborne Forces, retired Colonel General Georgy Shpak.

Significantly, the Russian military did not expect the NATO officer corps to coordinate the military operations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in addition to providing Kyiv with full intelligence information.

The Russian military also lacked training and experience in conducting main force operations against a similarly equipped opponent, emphasis in Russian military training having focused on anti-terrorism operations.

The head of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov , said that at the beginning of the special operation in Ukraine, there were certain “mistakes” and “shortcomings”, but in the second half of May, the development of hostilities is fully consistent with the original plan.
