PRAVDA: Maia Sandu, a Moldavan who is an ethnic Romanian, is also a citizen of Romania, according to Romanian law. For this reason, she may also run for president of Romania. Moreover, in Moldava her party has a majority in the parliament – this in turn, would enable the Moldavan Parliament to approve of a union with Romania.

The chairman of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) of Romania, Marcel Colacu, said that he is one of the supporters of Maia Sandu and the unification of Greater Romania.

The Humanist Social Liberal Party (PSUL) believes that this decision would be “untimely” and would not contribute to the unification of the two countries. Party representatives explained that the idea that the election of the same “ruler” in both countries would lead to a union of the two states, suggests ignorance of current constitutional and international law.

“This type of election cannot generate a union. In that sense it has no legal consequences and can serve only one purpose: to compensate for the lack of decision in Romanian political circles, which cannot put forward a competitive candidate for the presidential elections in 2024.”

Sandu met with Romanian, US intelligence agencies.

In early January, the President of Moldova made a private unofficial visit to Oradea, the home of NLP leader Ilie Bolozhan. There is an opinion that in the elections of 2024 he will work with Sandu as the future prime minister, thus creating the prerequisites for the unification of Romania and Moldova.

Romanian Senator Diana Shoshoaca said that Sandu “sold out her country to Soros”, and armed the military, in a run up to unification with NATO. “This means war. Why does NATO need the Republic of Moldova, if not to drag it into the conflict?” the senator said in an interview.

According to Bogdan Tsyrdea, a Socialist deputy of the Moldovan Parliament, Romanians are counting on a repeat of 1861, when Moldavian Prince Alexandru Ioan Cuza was elected prince in Wallachia also; this led to the unification of Wallachia and Moldavia and the creation of the Romanian state. But not all of Moldova will accept this, he added. Implementation of the Romanian plans will lead to the withdrawal of Gagauzia from Moldova and consolidation of the sovereign status of Transnistria, with subsequent accession to the Russian Federation, especially if by 2024 Russia will solve the tasks of the Special Military Operation in Ukraine.
