Russian forces operating between Mikolaiv and Kherson have reduced the Ukrainian salient that has been separating the two groups. Russian forces pushed the southern edge of the salient about 25 miles (40 kilometers) northward, occupying the town of Snihurivka. Russian forces have also pushed westward, from the Velyka Oleksandrivka and Vysokopillya areas, towards the Vysun River, thus further reducing the salient from the east.
